Dr Westra listened earnestly as I recounted how I hurt my back and why I think I need additional treatment, not questioning me about exact time frames. Then we went over my MRIs and he explained to me what I was seeing in the pictures and a few reasons why I might be feeling the pain I have. The doctor then explained that we would have some CAT scan images and look closer at my previous operation. Dr Westra seems anxious to help me and I am very thankful.

I’m a lifelong athlete, surfer, skier, cyclist, and general workout addict… just describing my perspective and how important recovering from back injury was to me. Came to Dr Westra with an acute (surfing) disc injury, which had caused disc debris to be wrapped around several nerve roots. Could barely walk and in constant debilitating pain. Dr Westra was brilliant in diagnosis, treatment, surgery and recovery. He listened carefully to all concerns and addressed each with care and understanding.
I have recommended him to several others in need of similar care. He’s a true professional and knows his stuff. I couldn’t be happier. I’m 100% back to all activities, truly remarkable considering how bad off I was just 6 months ago.
